Finance for the Culture is an educational platform that makes financial literacy accessible through one-on-one consultations, workshops and community collaborations. Our mission is to dismantle the fear of finance by teaching folks how money works. The founder, Shay Myers, teaches everyday Canadians how to save money, tackle debt, learn to invest, protect their income and build financial confidence. She’s hosted over 100 financial literacy workshops, helped clients clear over $100,000 in debt and has appeared on TVO: The Agenda twice as a panelist.
Just 3 years ago, Shay had $200 to her name and a 476 credit score but when she learned the rules of the money game and applied them, her life changed. She saved $40,000 in 9 months and invested $20,000 by the end of that year. She became a licensed financial advisor and educator because she realized she could make real systemic change through financial education. Finance doesn’t have to be stiff or overwhelming and Shay is revolutionizing the industry by taking a holistic approach, building long-lasting relationships and helping people build solid financial strategies.
